Garage Storage ideas

I need help adding storage to the toy hauler area. I have 2-5 kids that camp with me and they all sleep in the back. There is no place to put their stuff except on the floor. The walls and ceiling are tall so what can I mount the walls that won't destroy it? Cabinets or shelves of some type? What have others done and do you have pictures or links?

I have the cabinets that push back into the garage from the kitchen side. I don't have the loft bed. So I have that whole wall that I could mount something if it's strong enough.

I just need ideas so I can figure out where to start.

We try but they do take the Xbox. It helps when there is rain but they do other activities as well. Sometimes it does require me to remove power to get them out lol

I have seen toy haulers with cabinets and storage in them but the vengeance 320A SS comes with none of that so I need to add some. I am still searching around but I will come up with something.

Our Vengeance has cabinets up top. Although its a Touring Edition, I imagine they would work with your 320.

Look at this 40D12 at Holmans. You can see the cabinets in the garage pic.

Thanks for the link! Yeah I see the upper corner cabinets. Even something like that would help get some clutter off the floor. Our Vengeance doesn't have the loft bed. It has cabinets for the kitchen side. I would think that I would be able to add similar cabinets on the back side of those. Might need a reinforcing sheet of plywood between the wall and cabinets?

I got a couple of cheap kitchen wall cabinets from Lowes. Shop Project Source 30-in W x 12-in H x 12-in D Unfinished Brown Oak Door Wall Cabinet at Lowes.com

Stained to match and mounted with same type of wood screws used by FR. Takes a while to locate the studs behind the wall but very sturdy installation using six screws.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

Nice! This will be something I can work on now. Where did you source the screw and what type are they?

I had some factory screws laying leftover from when I cut off the top half of the forward entry cabinet. Didn't like minor stripping on the heads so I took one to Ace Hardware to duplicate. I think the ones I used were "deck" screws.

When we head out on our trip I'll try to locate some screws and remove one so that I can do the same. I'll have to wait till after the trip to check out those cabinets but they have to be better than nothing right?

The cabinets might require another step ladder but I may have to get one anyway since the kids have a hard time with the upper bunk bed.

Here's a pix of the install (2 cabinets). There's plenty of room in the 320 so you could lower them a little to allow storing stuff on top of them.

They look really nice! What stain did you go with to match? I could probably eyeball it but yours looks really close in the picture. I can't recall the width off the top of my head but I wonder if 3 would fit in the 320A?

I don't remember the stain color and I threw away the leftover tiny can (I don't have a fireproof cabinet any more so I get rid of stuff that burns)

Suggest you remove any existing door or panel and take it to the paint store to match it. Mine is close but not exact because of the different type of wood.

How did you attach them to the wall?

Found the studs and screwed into them (six screws per cabinet). Also set three screws on the end of the cabinet to cinch it up and secure to existing cabinet. I use one cabinet to store motorcycle helmets and tiedowns, the other for vests, hats and misc stuff. Less than 10 pounds in each so I don't anticipate any problems.

I'm collecting scraps of the honeycomb board used to make aircraft cabinets. About 1/10 the weight of wooden cabinets. You can pick up a 16"x16"x6' cabinet with one finger.
