Turbs,
Sorry for the confusion, I am the most tech unsavy person alive. I have a Forest River Vengeance 38L12 with a GVWR mismatch between the pinbox sticker and official placard on the side of the trailer.

Pinbox sticker from LCI says 18000 max GVWR and trailer sticker shows 21370 GVWR. The spec sheet on the Internet showed 21370 when we researched and later bought it last fall. Lippert has confirmed it to be an 18K frame, but they acknowledge FR could have made upgrades.
FR is now saying it was a mislabled and should have been 18K on side as well. Not too happy, since it was the 6K+ cargo capacity that drew me to this unit.

You have 3 7k axles?
It is likely just the pinbox that is limiting the gross to 18000 and if you think you will tow more than that I would try and work with Forest River and your dealer to get it upgraded to something more suitable.
I know with my Vengeance 39R12 when I was shopping around some had about a 20500 gross with the axle upgrade, but everyone with the upgraded Trail-Air pinbox was limited to 18k.

Funk...D,
Today FR agreed to change out my pinbox and recertify the trailer weight to at least the advertised 21370. I have 6K axles on the trailer.
If they do what they say, I'll be a happy customer.

I am confused, if you have three 6k Axles wouldn't that limit your GVWR to around 18,000 anyways?

Don't forget about the weight the truck carries. "Pin weight"

Hmm, now I'll have to do some checking. My 2014 V 39R12 has three 7K axles and a max gross of 20370. When fully loaded, the 5er is 19450#. I have never looked at the pin box specs. Unfortunately the Vengenance is at the dealership right now. I'm having total hip replacement surgery on the 26th, so it's gonna have to wait.

The plan it would seem is for the pin weight to be 3370 and the max weight on the three axles to be 18K, which is how the spec sheet and original label read. In my case, the pin box was the only limiting factor.

In my humble opinion, you have the ideal situation, more than enough axle capacity, as long as you have a 21K or greater pin box. I would just look at the sticker on the nose of your pin box to see if it is anything less than 21K.

You should be fine, I don't think the trail-air pinbox was an available option until 2015 so as long as you don't have it you should be good to go.

I have a 2015 Vengeance 39b12 touring edition. The sticker on the side the 21k GVWR. My sticker on the LCI pin box also reads 18k GVWR max. So what gives?

Nick,
You have the same issue I have on my 38L12. FR is currently addressing my issue through their warranty department.

I contacted Calvin Folk. He is the point of contact for warranty issues on the Vengeance, and he has helped us work through several concerns with our unit.

I just spoke with calvin last week. He argued with me that my 2015 39b12 has the correct pin box. Its almost like he did not understand what I was explaining. He claimed that every unit built came with THAT hitch, all of them. I think that's false advertisement if the pin box is obviously rated to 18k lbs GVWR max, and the trailer is almost 21k. Did he correct your problem because he kept giving me the run around and I was growing impatient? I seem to have a soft spot in the ramp door and I am not impressed with the warranty department this far.
