HTR Switch

Is this HTR switch on the left to turn the water heater on with propane? Have never used the heater with propane only electric. Thanks

Yes, that appears to be the switch to your propane/DSI with the fault/reset bulb to it's right (in between the HTR and PUMP switches).

This detailed link may help explain it better:

Thanks for the info. I have always turned off the WH at the breaker when I have it stored in the garage and the trailer plugged in to shorepower. Does the water heat faster when using both propane and electric?

Yes! Quicker recovery time.

Yes, according to Suburban the recovery times are 6 gallons using the electric element, 10.2 gallons using propane...or 16.2 using both at the same time,

The following is taken from their website link below:

Take advantage of campground or generator power to heat your water.

A 1440 watt Incoloy electric element provides a recovery rate of 6 gallons per hour. For a FAST RECOVERY rate of 16.2 gallons per hour, both gas and electric can be used simultaneously.

Combinations Gas & Electric Water Heater
