On the road.

Picked up my new 2020 Salem FSX181 RT a couple of weeks ago. Loaded up my motorcycle & headed to South Dakota to work road construction for a few months. I bought the 181RT for a variety of reasons. Price was a biggie. It was just under $13K , and was very nicely equipped, A/C, power awning with light strip, etc.. quality seems good for a bottom line trailer. So far so good.....time will tell. Another factor is size. I have a limited area I can park this in at home. It fits but barely. Im also pulling it with my little 6 banger Jeep Cherokee which has a maximum towing capacity of 4500lbs & tongue weight of 450. Even with the bike on board & empty tanks Im well under that. With the WD hitch it pulls very well, though hills & wind cause it to strain. The biggest detractor is fuel mileage. Normally 25-30+MPG, with the camper 10-12 if windy, or hilly, maybe 14 otherwise. Im keeping my fingers crossed but so far Im very pleased with mClick image for larger version

Yep, for a couple of months at least, maybe a little longer. This job lasts 6-8 weeks, and if stay for the second one another 10-12 weeks.
