Deck, absolutely for us. 3 season door a must. If I was ordering, I might nix the awning, as we have added the Extend-a-Room screen enclosure so it's redundant. No one the steps

When we purchased the hauler, we really weren't concerned with the party deck. We figured we could take it off if needed. We were more concerned with which side the bank of windows were on, thinking curb side was best for us.
We now seek out those camping locations that offer scenic views from the deck and now wouldn't consider one without it unless absolutely necessary.

We love our party deck and always use it if we have the room behind the rig.
The tank heating and insulated windows lead you to believe you can survive below freezing. My XLR is 3 season not 4.
The windows don't fog. That is nice, rear awning just keeps the water from coming in the toy area if you have a surprise rain. Short for the party area. Don't use the awning all the time being I put the ramp up every night. I'm getting a 3 session patio door installed to solve this problem.

imaXLR owner, or anyone.
Have a 395 AMP. Leaving awning out, always, helps deflect rain. But still get water in under some blowing conditions. The water then goes in the floor storage box and makes a real problem. Anyone solved?
I do lay a piece of plastic bag over cellar access door- half outside and half inside door. A pain, and must be done every time we go away or to sleep. Am going to look for a thin piece of very flexible plastic. Cannot visualize any door seal for bottom gap and for vertical gaps that would be 100% effective.

Do you have the 3 season sliding doors?

I am just thinking out loud, but what if you found a piece of large diameter thin walled plastic pipe, cut it down its length (the length would be the width of your rig where you need to cover where water is getting in) with a table saw to create a long piece of plastic with an arc in it, and place that over the lip at the rear?

We dont have a party deck but we leave the ramp down so that The dog and I can get in/out of the trailer since we are both handicapped and cant do the wiggley, open steps.Since the ramp is always down it gets rained on and since the edges are not sealed, the wood core soaks up water. The ramp is so heavy now that it takes two normal people to open or close it. Now ,Iam only bringing our situation to this thread because if you have a party deck and dont close it whenever you are not useing it , this is what will happen.

Another example of lack of engineering analysis. ..... beforehand.

Looks like you could use a set of Torklift Glowstep Revolution steps. Extremely solid, no wiggle and you can get a handrail that attaches to the step.
Here's a picture of ours. Even our puppy can easily navigate them.

I know there is no wood in the newer ramp doors. It's aluminum structural members with a foam core. If you opted for the patio option there is an additional thin sheet of aluminum to prevent pressure dings.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I keep reading about the wood ramps.

We haven't used our party deck yet but I certainly hope to camp in some spots that would make it worth it!

I made my own cable/brackets for a deck and have used it both times we went camping this year. It's dark and gloomy inside without the door open, 100% happy I did it!
