My 2011 Tundra pulls the 27HFS with an 1,100 pound Harley in the garage and the TT gas tank full with no issues. Being my second time around, I knew sway was my enemy. I put a big sway bar on the back of the truck, and got a WDH with active (not friction) sway control.

How much room do you have in the garage with a trike in there?

It's not a trike, it's a 2003 ultra classic full dresser. From the front wheel chock to the bathroom door is 3-4 inches and behind the tour pack is maybe 2 inches. So it is a tight fit. They advertise a 10' garage, but its really about 9'8".

I don't know if you are asking me but my TT weighs about 6000 lbs and I load about 4000 lbs so total is close to 10,000 lbs. I pull with a 2012 ford super duty 3500 single rear wheel. It has been awesome

Yep...dealers will tell you ANYTHING to make a sale.
It's all about weight, how much, where you put it and what your TV can handle.

Good read. Thanks for sharing. Couple of observations. 1. You mentioned sway control chains. I'm thinking you may be referring to the weight distribution hitch WDH (bars), which have chains on the ends that hook to the trailer. If so, do you also have the anti-sway bar beside the hitch ball? Or, does your WDH have built in anti sway features?
2. Another benefit from half ton to 3/4 ton is the tires. Half ton probably had passenger tires (load range c) which have soft sidewalls allowing more sag and sway. The 3/4 ton probably has Lt tires load range E with stiffer sidewalls, for load bearing.
Either way, you've got a good set up now a great story for the campfire. Or forum. Lol

Please read if you are buying a toyhauler !
I have a 30' grey wolf TT toy hauler 26rr. Completely loaded with motorcycle and everything is 6500lbs. ( CAT scaled weight) tanks 2/3 rds full.
Use a husky centerline 4 point active sway wdh. I do not have any problem with sway. I tow with a 2002 Ford F-150 super cab. Firestone airbags. Of course my weights and trailer are lighter than a lot of people that responded.

X2 I`ve even traded trucks that lose 4 mph on a hill . Very demanding when it comes to a TV.

Good on you for looking out for others. I discovered a post similar to this about a year ago before I even settled on a toy hauler brand / size - And decided to buy a Ram 3500 dually with the factory tow prep so that no matter which one we bought - We'd be GTG.

I have a PUMA Unleashed toy hauler and one of the toys I haul is 1,800 lbs. This is nearing the limit weight wise so I need to pay close attention to what else I carry in the trailer. I put a spreadsheet together that allows me to configure the tank levels to see where I am at weight wise. Once you load up these trailers with water and gear you can easily approach or exceed the weight limit rating.
Also looking to get a Weigh Safe hitch which is height adjustable and has a scale that shows your tongue weight. Having peace of mind on the highway is vastly preferred over pulling over and wondering how you will make adjustments on the side of the highway to get it to tow correctly.

This just begs the question: " If you had all this money lying around why were you toying around with that little regular cab half ton in the first place???"
