Suspension mods
Does anyone have any first hand experience with products like lippert equal-flex(or similar)?. Would like folks who had their trailer for at least one trip before they did the mod. Trying to see if you noticed any differences.

I have installed the equa flex on my unit and I also installed upgraded shackles with wet bolts. I no longer pop and creak with every movement which is nice when pulling into a campground late. I do believe that it provides a better ride as I find less items mainly dishes moved around after a long pull.
To install it is a little tricky. I needed three jacks total- two for the frame and one to put the axle back into position. I did use the brass bushings over the never fail type- price I felt was too high.

Thanx hondaman. That is the info I was looking for. If nothing else, the greased bolts would help quiet the ride.

Sorry to hijack, but can you tell me what these greased bolts and quieting the ride is? My "area with the wheels and stuff" is noisy in turns and whatnot. It'd be great to quiet that all down.

Most of the ez-flex type products come with special bolts for the spring hangers. They have a grease fitting, zerk, so you can grease that fitting. Also, they replace the nylon bushing in same place with brass bushings. You-tube has several videos showing the process. Lippert and dexter both make kits.

Thanks. I have the Lippert Equa-flex. I'll do some looking at it.
(Have always had it, so I can't help with your original post.)

You should see the zerk on the end of the bolts that go thru the end of the springs. The equa flex has one or two zerks as well. If installed correctly, the zerk should be on the outside so you can access it easily.

You added the correct track , gives you some lift , but the wet bolts for the equalizer will be to short . if you find wet bolts that are long enough let me know ! i could use 4 .

If you don't have a drill press or lathe to make them yourself, you can take the longer bolts to a machine shop and have them made. I made my own on our racecar trailer.

no no metal lathe , i would not trust self made wet bolts . the hardened steel would be very hard to drill and i standard bolt i would not trust once drilled . i just installed the brass bushing and greased well should last for several years like that .
the problem is with the mixing of parts from dexter axles to the lippert correct track . one does not work well with the other when looking to add up grades and the correct track system is really a joke to begin with
