Toy Hauler Recommendation

Not sure if this is the right place but here goes: wifey and I are thinking about changing to a bumper pull toy hauler from our current TT. Wanting to stay under 9000 GVWR if possible. Any recommendations, good/bad brands? Should I instead be looking at 5th wheels? I drive a Chevy 2500HD Duramax diesel with appx. 3000 payload.

Welcome!

it would be very helpful to get some more info on what you want in a toy hauler. I have one that comes in under 22 feet from tongue to bumper and well under your 9000 lbs.

there are lots of great people here who would love to help you find just the right unit for you!

Think long and hard. I had a 29hfs thinking it would be nice to camp and ride my road bike. didn't take long to figure out I wanted to camp or ride not both at the same time. I had 15 foot camper with a 15 foot shed on the back and had no living space. traded in very quickly.

Do you want to have separate garage or an open concept toy hauler. I started with a Grey Wolf 26rr TT and now have a Puma 27qbc. They both are under 10,000 lbs. I love my toy hauler, it has on board generator, refueling station, and all the gadgets. I would not have anything else but a toy hauler but then again I don’t go anywhere without the bike.

We are wanting an open concept TH. Main reason is to haul a 10' golf cart to the beach. Open concept would give us multi-functionality when not hauling the cart.

My suggestion would be look at the Grey Wolf 26rr, Coachman Catalina, wildwood has similar floor plan. The Puma toy hauler is nice. I have the 27qbc. Rated under 10,000 lbs, has a generator, fuel station, happy jack bed in back, and queen in front. We like it a lot, and still around 34ft long.

This is not a FR brand, but these are the nicest toy haulers I have ever seen... especially for a bumper pull.
ATC Aluminum Toy Hauler
They were on display at a show we went to recently in CT, the 28' with front bedroom was $60k.
The aluminum frame work is amazing.
Fit & finish on everything was first class.

I wish they would make a normal travel trailer.

Here's what I bought this past Fall.
https://www.paulsherryrvs.com/rv/piq...+pack+23pack15

Hauls my golf cart with plenty of room and then turns into a nice size living area with plenty of room for 6-8 people on a rain day, a rear deck to use if you have a nice view behind your camper and a place to let the dogs sun if your too busy cooking or tending the campfire to watch them.

Perfect for us.

Here's a video walkthrough.

You can get it with fiberglass sides (I did) if you prefer that. Also has electric stabilizer jacks, Residential fridge with inverter and the party deck previously mentioned as options.

Thanks Biker but WAY over budget. We need to stay under $30k if possible.

That would be hard since the garage is only 10' and many options from the happy jack bed to dinnete and couches , it a completely usable space . I haul my motorcycle and use it and when camped i set the garage up as an office . you can open the rear door and pull the screen down and have a nice deck . so many things to do with a toy hauler over and standard camper . not to mention the added fuel station . pound for pound your better with a toy hauler then not

One thing I'll do is mount the toilet paper holder on the back of the hall door. And some of the mods cincygus did.

We were going to get a 26RR but didn't like having to walk thru the bathroom to get to the bedroom. Grey Wolf has a brand new model this year 25RRT. We just ordered one site unseen, it has a hallway to the bedroom and two large camp side windows. we always park so the camp side has the view of lake.
