Just a quick update. Sold the 2015 F350 SRW. Flew to Ohio last week to pick up this new F450. I went with the magnetic grey, primarily because I like it and its just about a dead match with the grey on the nose cap of the Vengeance.

rv slide out cover

is it worth the added $$$ for the RV slide out covers for a 40D12? Are they really needed? Looking to live in this unit once we get it.

We've done 14 trips so far in our 40D12. Probably 40 days or so total.

The only time slideout covers would have helped was at Fort Wilderness. The danged squirrels every morning would climb the oak tree above us and drop acorns and limbs on the roof EVERY day. After a week, the roof and slideouts were covered. I had to go up there and do some cleaning the day we left.

So I guess it all depends on where you'll be staying. If its just rain you're worried about, we've never had a slideout leak and we've been in some serious downpours. If you do decide to get some, at least its only two covers.

Mattress upgrades/dimensions 40D12

I recently purchased the 2019 40D12: so far, so good. I have the unit sitting in a storage unit at the moment, while I'm back working in Afghanistan.

I want to purchase upgraded mattresses for the "Vengeance King" in the master and the "Queen" in the toy hauler section but finding the sizes online has been a nightmare.

The manufacturer could only tell me they used Either Queen 60x74 or 60x80
and for the King, either 66x74 and 72x80. For some reason, they don't seem to know what size is on my model?

Could someone PLEASE give me some ACTUAL measurements, so I can put in an order and have the new beds waiting. I only have 30 days of R&R between my rotations back to work, so every day counts while I'm back in the states and the stock beds are awful!

Good looking rig kfx450rxc!
I just bought my 40d and my F450 to pull it. Have not spent a night in yet! I had it at a local park to set it up inside. Could only Set up one tv off of the park cable. I noticed there are two jacks for satellite input and one for cable input two outputs at each tv not marked. Got the bedroom tv setup one one output but nothing on the living room. Does any one have any suggestions . And does any know if my generator is on the propane system or the gasoline tank? Sorry for all the questions I am a newbie.

Tv's and Generator

Same here: I can only get park cable to the main tv in the living room and they also were not labeled: trial and error and then I marked them myself LOL... The Antennae switch is next to the power outlet on the bedroom tv: that will allow ALL the Tv's to search for the local digital signal.

My generator runs off the 30 gal tank under the garage. From that tank, you also have the option to turn on the boost pump next to the tank sight glass and fuel your toys, etc.

I've never used my boost pump (So I've never used my fuel pump). The generator does NOT need that pump on for anything... I've almost for 200 hours on my generator... Super fuel efficient! I'm guessing 24 hours continuous use per tank (30 gallons)

I have a 2017 40d12. My question is related to the black water tanks. Is there more than one valve to dump the black water tanks? Or are the only valves the ones in the left side storage compartment?

Also have any of you changed the bedroom ac from manual control to a thermostat? I'm thinking of adding a thermostat to mine. I really don't like it running continuously.

Hi Mpr3369. My rig has an aft lav and sink in the garage, with a seperate dump valve just forward of the drivers side front tire... I would think yours is set up the same?

Hey, just to clarify... I'm NOT talking about the valves on the drivers side in the compartment.... You should have a separate valve on the "outside " of the rig
