Angry Where Do I Find The Transfer Switch? Sierra

Hello everyone, We have a 2007 Forest River Sierra 19SP Toyhauler. We have owned it new since 2006 and have had no problems until recently.

Coming back from a camping trip, I plugged into shore power at the house and I could not get it to power the toyhauler. I started the generator and that worked. Everything was working, TV, Micro, etc. Tried the shore power again but it still did not work.

I have checked my outlet, shore cord, breakers, fuses, and connections. Everthing is connected tight and there is juice from the outlet and shore cord.

I went to Giant RV and explained my problem to them and without hesitation, the technician said it was the "transfer switch." He showed me what it looks like but said he could not says where it was until he saw the toyhauler( I didn't bring it down since I wanted to fix it myself).

My problem: I cannot find where the transfer switch is. I have removed cabinets, unscrewed panels, looked behind the breaker panel, and underneath the toyhauler and still cannot find it. Does anyone know where it is located at? It has to have one right? Do they keep this hidden in a secret spot so that we are forced to have them service the trailer? It's harder than trying to find Jimmy Hoffa's body. Any help is greatly appreciated. Albert.

Question Just a thought

I don't know for certain but would think it may be in the inverter box?

Hi, Did you ever find the transfer switch?? I also have a 2007 Sierra and am having the same problem. I can't find the switch. I am installing a Prosine inverter/charger and I need to know where the switch is so I can get it installed downstream of the switch.

Anybody??

Transfer switch ?? I thought that by pulling the plug from the generator and plugging it into the shore receptacle is all you needed to do? I don't think that there is a transfer switch at least my 2004 sierra sport doesn't have one

There is a transfer switch on my 2007. It is built into the converter. Located in the middle ,on the back. It can be isolated by rewiring, but what a pain. I gave up on trying since my solar panels plus the converter seem to be keeping my batteries up just fine when I am boondocking.

There is no plug going into the generator that you can unplug and plug into shorepower on mine. I wish there was . Simple and foolproof!

Well I guess I'm the transfer switch lol I have to unplug the shore power cord from the junction box that is fed from the generator in order to plug it into shore power.
