Hi All, while looking at the specs of the 2016 and early 2017 Sandstorm/Shockwave/Stealth vs the 2017 midyear, it looks like Forest River dropped the RVlock V4 and went back to a standard lock.
Any ideas why other than maybe cost?
I recently ordered a Shockwave 28RQDX and I thought I was getting the RVlock with my order but now I am not so sure.
Not sure but my 2016 Stealth had problems w the RV lock. I will say contacting them directly they were awesome to deal with and it works again. Do I use it? Not one time in practical use.

In a year and a half I have never used a key. The RVLock on our trailer works perfectly.
Same. Despite changing the battery, mine has been flawless and we use it a ton. We stay at an rv resort on a lake quite a bit so when we're at the lake it's piece of mind to lock up.

Even with the problems I had on mine, I still like it. I took it apart completely internally and I can say it's easy to service. I even smoothed up some surfaces so it operates with less friction and the dead bolt moved out easier than before. I think it's a good product.

I believe they dropped the product because people liked it! It really is a super product and worry free.
Looking inside the walls of my 2018 Cherokee....Forest River must've also dropped the "INSULATION" because people liked it. There's more Insulation inside an Igloo cooler than there is inside my 36' trailer.
