Extending its reputation for “super-duty” construction, Work and Play launched its Catalyst line of fifth-wheel toy haulers at January’s Florida RV Supershow sporting three robust 42-foot floorplans. “For the past two years, Work and Play has been the top-selling travel trailer toy hauler,” said Kevin Finn, general manager for the Goshen, Ind.-based division of Forest River Inc. “We realized that if our customers outgrew our toy haulers, we didn’t offer a step-up. We developed the Catalyst to keep our customers in the family.” Finn emphasized that the Catalyst also incorporates the latest technological advances in the industry, noting, “It’s loaded, including Lippert Components Inc.’s (LCI) Linc tablet remote system that controls slides, awnings, generators and other components, and also syncs with a Bluetooth stereo system.” Included in the Catalyst lineup is the 40 WCH, equipped with a 17-foot garage and a 9,000-pound cargo-carrying capacity capable of hauling a car. Characteristic of the Work and Play brand, all Catalysts offer a 5,000-pound ramp door with the lowest ramp angle in the industry along with FRP sidewalls – fiberglass combined with reinforced plywood for added strength. Built on LCI’s 24,000-pound M-Tec chassis with Dexter 7,000-pound axles and G-rated tires, Catalyst also features a one-piece aluminum roof and reflective foil technology insulation. Standards include a 46-inch LED TV, 40,000 Btu furnace, fireplace with surround, MCD shades, 6-point Level Up hydraulic leveling system and a Dyson cordless vacuum. Starting MSRP: $89,000.
