WPTH 18EC. Thinking about buying new
Hi Forum. My first post. Got interested in the 18EC to haul two quads up hunting. Want a new one because the wife would be happier in a clean unit. Don't need anything longer because of the tight spaces we'd head in to.
If you own an 18EC, does anyone have any regrets? Shoulda put some option in, shoulda done this or that.
I appreciate any wisdom the group may wish to impart.
Al

OK. No responses to this thread, but I found a new 2013 18EC for C$ 18,750 and couldn't resist. 400 miles from home but it's a good deal I think. Just didn't have the nose-cone, but what can you do...
Salesguy said to bring a WD hitch. I didn't think that was necessary but will bring it along. QUESTION: is a WD hitch required to tow this little trailer? I'm using a GMC Duramax K2500. Should be sufficient, no?

What part of the country are you in? That price is too high. As a comparison, we purchased a previously owned, but lierally never used, 2013 in August of last year for $14,000 out the door. Brand new 2014's are on the lot right now for $16,469 in South Carolina where we purchased.
The 18EC is heavy for what it is and we tow ours with a 2015 Silverado Duramax 2500HD ... she has no problem towing it, but she knows its back there. Yes, we use a WD hitch as well as a single side sway control, although, the new 2500's have built in sway control.

There are a couple for sale in the classified section. Brand new 2015 never used for 20.

I just traded my 18EC I pulled it with my F150 Ecoboost. It pulled well but it definitely needed a WDH and sway bar. My tongue weight ended up around 1,200 pounds.
Used 18ECs are difficult to find and are expensive. It is a good trailer, built heavy duty and heavy.
Good luck with it.

If you notice the 'C' in front of the '$' in post #2 it probably means Canadian dollars and that he's from Canada (I wish everybody would identify where they are from, at least approximately, in their profile).
Prices are higher in this foreign land. Some are willing to travel to another country to buy if the bargain is great enough and some are not - personal preference.

It is too costly to travel across the border and drive way south to grab one at $15,000 US. I figured buy it local, no exchange, no hassle at the border and easier to go to the dealer for any warranty work.
I'm liking the unit. It's heavy but I don't mind that. It'll probably do better on the gravel as we're taking it hunting up north this fall.
