Aintgotnun update

Went to the surgeon this morning and I am now able to “ditch” the crutches. I think I’ll look for a cool cane. I still have to wear the boot for at least another 4 weeks while walking. Next week I will probably start physical therapy to start working on my ankle and getting it back into shape.

Things are looking good!

I'm thinking of a Bull "member" cane. Just to annoy the wife

Time for another update

Last Friday I ditched the walking boot for a pair of lace-up steel toe boots. Saturday I hoped back on the scooter and put about 90 miles on it. By the end of the day my ankle was screaming at me to stop so when I got home I iced and elevated and applied some liquid pain killer in the form of Dewars Special Reserve.

Yesterday PT started in earnest. The torture that these folks can put you through is amazing. And we keep coming back for more. Strength and mobility are improving daily and it won’t be long and I should be at close to 100%.

Today for giggles I rode my scooter to work just to make some of these yahoo’s heads spin. After all it’s 11 weeks to the day when I tore my ankle and leg up and getting back on the scooter was something a lot of these people around here didn’t think I’d ever do much less so soon.

I need to come up with a better way to pack my cane along with me though. Right now I bungee it to the back seat and let it ride that way. I may have the wife sew me a scabbard that I can attach to it.

All is good and getting better.
