Any Happy Forest River Owners Out there?

Hey, I just purchased a new Roo which I will pick up in several weeks. If you read the thread below titled Quality, it would seem that Forest River puts out nothing but POS. It is rather disconcerting reading this as a new TT buyer. I'm hoping that my unit is decent quality with minimal issues, not perfect but just decent. From what I have read on here, that may be asking a lot. Can't help but wonder if I should have bought that other make and model.

I would really appreciate hearing from some of you that have been relatively pleased with your units. I hope there are some of you out there.

Guess I'm wondering if my dream vacations could turn into nightmares based on some of the experiences shared.

Thanks much.

what "quality" thread below? I am a new HTT owner too. Don't have the unit yet, but I am looking forward to camping. All things said, I think everyone's expectations will be different, thus creating some ill feelings about how "good" the quality will be in any unit. It is a camper, after all.....

We have a 2015 Salem Hemisphere 336rlt and love it. I often wondered what the percentage of total units sold were actually pos. My guess is a pretty small%. The vast majority of people on here are seeking help here for issues they have, and not bashing FR. I have learned a tremendous amount of help here just by lurking around the forum. Go for it.

People naturally complain more than they praise, there are quality issues that would be relatively easy to correct but alas the parent group must be unwilling to allow this. That being said my Surveyor has been good.

Initial quality on ours has been just fine and we love it. Good luck with yours!

Yes. My only complaint on my 2 fr 5ers is the trail express tires. They'll be a deal breaker should I ever by another.

I am on my 4th trailer...all Forest River , a Palomino Hybrid , and 3 Rockwoods .
Had a few bugs, but very satisfied overall.
I have an excellent local dealer, wich makes a huge difference.

The quality of a Palomino 5er is good now that I fixed the slide issues myself and the heating duct work and the kinked gas line from the generator that took awhile to find. No other major problems and the over all quality is good. The stereo speakers are a pos but that's easily fixable. Just test everything on it out good before you sign papers, I didn't so I fixed the issues mine had but I'm also able to fix them but it is upsetting to have to after spending $60k. I like FR products and I like getting to camp unhooking and hitting the auto level button. LOL

Any Happy Forest River Owners Out there?

I'm here. 4 1/2 year old trailer, 16,700 miles traveled and over 600 nights camping and no problems. Have another 100 night trip planned for this summer.

We have a Rockwood highwall 276 (PUP), and we love it. Yes, there've been a few minor problems, but they've all been fixable/fixed. Our dealer's service tends to be a bit slow (perhaps because they no longer sell FRs), but otherwise is fine; we also have A Guy who has taken care of our campers since we had a VW bus. :-) There are several reasons we're planning to trade our PUP for a TT (also FR), but none of them are about the quality. Just remember that people who are frustrated are more likely to vent than people who are happy.

I have a Class C Forester 3011 DSF. I had a roof failure but I am still a satisfied customer. Their service after the sale is exemplary. Here is a thread to counterbalance some of the negative.

As others have said.. folks with no problems don't post just to praise, so naturally a forum like this is going to be skewed. If you do a little more reading I think you'll find that there is a common sentiment that FR really does stand behind their products. More so than most.

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another FR product.

I guess you could quantify it by the amount of registered users vs the amount of complaints. I was one of the complainers (on a pain scale of 1-10 is probably around 2). My 2015 Roo has had only one maiden voyage and was great. Its those that were around 10 in a pain scale that makes me nervous. China bomb tires, slide problems, tent leaks, etc. But, because of these forums I can't say I am blind to those issues and will keep an eye out. As you read in other forums, parts are parts, and they all source from the same well. My last htt sob had its issues too, and I kept that 5 years. Wouldn't have traded it in but i was helping my boss research and came across the 23ikss and it knocked my socks off. Showed it to the DW, bye bye sob.

Yes, we are happy. There have been challenges, but so do homes, apartments, tents, etc. If you want to be pampered, choose a hotel with a good concierge.

We've had a crusader for one year, 30+ nights in it and we are happy, so far. It is currently in the shop getting some things taken care of so we will see on the condition we get it back in. The manager seems very easy to get along with and assures that all of our "little" concerns will be no problem. The only "major" concern I have is a little flex in the frame, FR says it's not a concern but time will tell. We actually looked at a new Sanibel and my wife and I LOVED it! Maybe we might trade in, who knows.

I agree that 90% of people, maybe more will never praise a good thing but are quick to bitch about a bad thing.

Brother you should look into the complaints about Keystones, former owner. All RV type vehicles have that period of adjustment. You know things you wish you would have thought about about a month later.

I think someone might have mentioned it earlier, people that are mad and aren't getting any satisfaction squeal the loudest. People traveling along happily rarely post that they are sleeping well, comfortable or having fun.

So far we're happy with our 351Ds.

Perfectly happy with my 2 Flagstaff trailers. No problems with either one other than a bad landing jack on the present 5er.

I just bought a new Rockwood and love it! Upgraded from a Wildwood. Both forest river products. I had a couple of issues on the wildwood but FR made it right. The Rockwood has been flawless except a bad radio (had a bad batch) and a bent stabilizer jack. Both taken care of by FR. Yes I have been happy with the product.

On our 5th camper and our second Forest River. I am extremely pleased with our Silverback.

Campers have been a love hate relationship. I've also had 10 boats...so what do I know about being content.
