Atlanta Georgia RV Shows In January 2017

For those who may not have heard the North Atlanta Trade Center is no longer in business. The January RV show that was held at the NATC is now being held at the Cobb Galleria on January 20-22.

Here is a link to the event: Georgia RV & Camper Show

The Atlanta Camping And RV Show is being held near the airport at it's usual location on January 27-29. Here is a link to the event: Atlanta Camping Show

In my opinion the Atlanta Show has usually been a much better event than the Georgia RV. But with the Georgia Show moving to a new venue that might change.

Thanks for the info RedLr1 but: I could not get either of those links to work just by clicking on them. I did cut and paste them to the search bar on Mozilla and they worked fine. Strange huh?

That is odd. I was using a new Chromebook when I posted that so I'll need to take a look at what is going on...

Links work fine on I phone. ( perhaps post responder has a "flip phone" 😂.
EZ now; only kidding.

Been to all Atlanta area shows many times. Worked a booth at the Atlanta show. Something for everyone at both. The now obsolete center was old but fun. Lots of vendor booths and high attendance. Took several discounted trips and stays offered by various campgrounds.

Cobb Galleria is a BEAUTIFUL, modern, HUGE, facility. I was recently at a show there. WARNING: if you have a " lifted " pick up or plan in going there in a motor home; ( C or A)
get your PARKING PLAN FIGURED OUT IN ADVANCE. yes, free parking. Low ceilings. LIMITED outdoor spots and they are TIGHT. This is one of the busiest areas in/around Atlanta.

Just PLAN AHEAD OF TIME.

I live my life by the US Army Signal Corps motto: "think, go do". Key is in the plan to enjoy your experience😂.

All of you in a "tiny" toad; you are good to go!! God bless and be with you on the Atlanta highways!!

I agree, large vehicle parking at the Galleria can be a pain, any parking can be a pain at popular events...

If you're driving a large vehicle the easy way to park is at the Cumberland mall across Highway 41. There is a nice pedestrian overpass over US 41 that goes between the Galleria and the mall. A little hike but easy parking. Just make very sure you secure your vehicle in the mall parking lot.

I hate to think what parking in that area will be like when they open the new stadium...

Don and I will be working a booth (Southeastern Greyhound Adoption) at the Atlanta show in January. We will be there on Sunday, please stop by and say hello and pet the hounds, they LOVE working these shows!

We'll stop and say Hi but no thanks to petting the hounds... We have six rescue dogs in our "pack" already. If I brought home another one I'd need to upgrade to a Class A to live in as my wife would probably throw me out!

The wife and I want to go to one of the shows but don't know which one would be better. Any help would be helpful.

We've done both and in the past the Atlanta Show has been the better one for us.

Since the Georgia Show is in a new venue it may improve from last year. There were to many non-RV vendors at the Georgia Show when it was at the NATC. I suspect they stayed their year around as they were at the Motorcycle show as well. They didn't belong at it either.

We are going to the Georgia Show this Friday afternoon. I'll post a "review" when we get home.

Atlanta show better and parking better if you should be driving an RV. I go to this one every year. Hate going to Cobb Galleria to much traffic. I Usually go first thing in am before the crowds start and building heats up with all the body heat. Later RJD

We went to the Georgia RV Show this AM and it was okay. Too much Camping World, with Zero FR products, for my taste but overall a fairly good selection of RV's of all types, ranging from entry level to $500K+ Class A's , scattered around. I was not impressed with the small vendors as most were not for RV's. Too many home improvements, insurance, and kitchen "stuff" rather than actual RV accessories.

As far as RV parking I highly recommend you do not attempt to park an RV at the Galleria. The normally bad parking has been made worse by construction for the bridge over I-285 to the new stadium. Only the first lot would be accessible due to height restrictions...and that would be questionable. Add that it was pretty full at 1030 today so it could be a real challenge this weekend. If you have to drive a RV either park at Cumberland Mall, on the west side of US-41, or go past the Galleria entrance and try to find something further down the access road. To add insult to injury there are signs stating "No RV or Trailer Parking" in the only Galleria parking lot you could use...

Based on today's visit I believe that the Atlanta Show next weekend is a better choice if you are only going to do one show....YMMV.

Tnx for your CANDID review. I went to this show like 4 months ago and it was "ok" . It had a major rv center ( not CW ) represented with 50% of the inventory. Vendor representation would be ranked at 4 out of 10. Spent $10 person entry. Parking was free and Ok. Tip, all floors in the garage do have elevators. Top floor is OPEN and RAIN IS A COMING TO ATLANTA TONIGHT!!
I will say Camping World, like them or not, does "bring the rv's".
I think we will do the show tomorrow just to get out and about. ( counting on a good representation from CW )
Disappointing no FR, BUT, I am not buying anyway. ( retired and own my toys )

We will also do Jonesboro next weekend as well. I worked that show as a vendor in the past. We USED several discounted week stays by signing up with representatives. Also, it had A LOT of food....with seats, for a lot of food vendors. This location has ample, ez, parking. Flat entry , show and exit. Very ez access of the interstate with a LOT LESS COMPETING TRAFFIC. Great place for kids to get really excited!!

NEITHER OF THESE SHOWS COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THOSE HUGE SHOWS LIKE, PHOENIX, HERSHEY, LOUISVILLE OR TAMPA SUPER-SHOW. ( been to each except Hershey) 👌

I think my RV show days are over after Pittsburgh this year. Too many people pushing gutter helmets, replacement windows, remodeling, cosmetics, socks, security systems, beef jerky, Tupperware, Vacations, Insurance, Casinos, Basement waterproofing, and laser surgery.

Add to that people wanting me to buy newspaper subscriptions and sign up for giveaways at every turn. I would rather get caught in the jam up back in the food section of Sams when they're passing out the free samples.

I did however have fun talking down some sales guy on the price of a 150K MH for about 15 minutes before telling him thanks, but I really had my heart set on a Prevost, and asked if he knew if any were in the building. That was when my wife pulled me away by the collar

I think I'll just stick to Hershey once a year and make a weekend out of it.

Well, JUST RETURNED from 4 hours at the Georgia Cobb Galleria RV Show. It was ok. Actually there were 3 Riverstones, a couple of class c and at least one bottom feeder, small FR class A. Will we attend again? Unlikely. Lots of family interest in class c's with bunk beds and medium length tag a long campers.

Accessories were HOME IMPROVEMENT, perfumes, etc. Did not see a lot of buying going on in that small area.

Me and my daughter went since we're are looking again at our first camper. Rain was horrible driving down there. There was a lot to look at but very disappointed in the small vendors. Nothing really camping related. We will go to next weekends show because we like all the different campground and state park booths. The show was ok but not as nice as the Atlanta Camping and RV show.

We went to the Atlanta Show today and it was much better than the Georgia Show last weekend. There were still several booth vendors that are not RV oriented but there were also numerous campgrounds and independent repair shops in attendance. The selection of RV's was also better than last week. If I could only attend one of the shows this would be my choice.

The only downside for us is its about a 80 mile round trip. Straight South on I-75 thru Atlanta and then back up...traffic was already ugly at 2PM on the way home....

We have been looking at campers it seems like for years and this has always been our favorite show. We go on Saturday because of work and like you said about the traffic on Friday. Saturday the traffic is not bad but I bet the crowds are less on Friday than what we will see by noon Tomorrow.

Don't bet too much on the crowds being less on Friday. It took at least twenty minutes for the initial surge to get in when they opened. And when we left the parking lot had filled up quite nicely...

The really good news is we didn't see any RV's that would chase us out of our current setup.
