Some people suggest putting a bed cover (not a "camper shell") on a truck to gain a bit of MPG. My brother put one on his Toyota and swears he gets 4/10ths of a gallon better. I put one on my F-150 and got no discernable increase in MPG.

Pump your tires up tight, take your foot out of it and you WILL get better MPG, and neither cost anything. Good engine maintanence will also help.

I have noticed on my commute through Atlanta everyday that almost everybody is slowing down. But not everybody. Some folks have nothing better to do with their money than buy gas.
