You also aren't really helping American farmers by buying more corn products. You are helping the agri/chemical company Monsanto, who owns a few patents on GMO corn, which is 90% of corn produced in America today. We have stopped eating almost all corn except organic because of this.

all I can say about ethanol is.....seems like a lot of mechanics are making money off engine repairs caused by ethanol in too high of concentrations....on everything form lawnmowers to commercial tow vehicles......

poor combustion is just that......too hot of combustion is efficient either..

engines are designed to work at certain temp/combustion/ignition/fuel flows.......running to weak in one area causes damage....running to high in one area causes damage.....

We ran 100% methanol in our race cars for cooling and it took just about exactly twice as much fuel per race. It burns so cool, the intake manifolds would actually have frost on them before the engine got to operating temp. Didn't run a fan behind the radiators.
