The engine is capable, and the beefed up suspension is capable, but I wonder how well the tranny will hold up over the long haul of heavy towing.
BTW, that ecoboost V6 engine produces more horsepower and almost as much torque as the 2002 8.0 liter (488 cu in) V10 engine I had in my Dodge three quarter ton truck.

How did this thread end up talking about ecoboost and popcorn eating smilies. You guys are too nice on the manufacturers. That's why they continue to make sub standard products. The consumer will take what they are given. At least this group will. Just load your truck up with tools and do it yourself fixes and you're all set.
Rugged it was me that asked about the Eco boost because in the course of conversation about light weight trailers the F150 was mentioned so I inquired. Sorry to have offended you. I guess not everyone in these forums are courteous of others curiosity.
Sorry Rugged but I guess we'll never know why RV manufacturers can't make a lightweight that can accommodate a bike rack. Simple question, but maybe we are not smart enough to understand the answer. This is going to be filed along with why PT won't install a roof ladder.

I would consider the Gray Wolf line a "lightweight" trailer line (all except the 29DSFB are less than 6k dry)and my 27BHKS has a factory rack on the back that holds 250lbs. I would sure hope it is covered by warranty since it was shipped with it, lol.

Not to pull you off topic-because I too would like an answer to your question-but, what about the dual receiver hitches? We would like to be able to carry kids bikes and our bikes and are trying to figure out how it can be done. The top of our Tahoe is reserved for our kayaks.
We will be getting our SV291 in June and were wondering about installing a bike rack to the rear of the TT or using a dual hitch. The dual hitch makes me worry though.....
I can hardly wait for someone from FR to respond!
Here's a copy of my previous post in February. at the RV show I was impressed with the
Wildcat because it included a rear hitch. But earlier this year this is what happened.
"For Chris
I was trying to order a Wildcat today and was told that the factory is now building 2013 models with an over $1000 increase in price due to an upgraded carpet and the domed ceiling in the living room. Most disturbing is that the factory has deleted the hitch receiver on the back bumper. We use that to carry our bicycle rack. Others have used it to carry additional items. I was the told that the factory deleted the hitch because of directions from their legal department. That hitch was a very good feature of a Wildcat Fifth Wheel. Now all of us new Wildcat owners have to spend additional dollars to carry our bicycles. When we met you at the factory, you wanted customer feedback, so here it is."
I plan to move the spare tire to underneath the front of the camper between and slightly behind the landing gear. Then I will purchase a bolt-on bike rack for two bicycles., which I'm sure weighs about the same as the current bolt-on tire rack and spare tire. I wonder what the legal department would say about that configuration.
As a side note, the Wildcat brochure I have said the Wildcat included a rear hitch with a 300# limit. Now you get a nasty decal note on your rear bumper.
Chris did state that FR was looking at other accommodations for people who like to carry their bikes. Haven't heard anything yet. Have any of you?

Huh? Are you just being silly?
I was referring to a dual hitch receiver on the car. One where a bike rack is attached to the top receiver and the trailer is attached to the bottom.
Being female, I am a little bit afraid to post in this testosterone ladened thread , but I really do wonder about this type of hitch. I thought this might be a solution to the less-than-burly rear bumper on the TT.
What do you all think? (and please be kind)

Is someone twisting your arm making you buy FR products? They sure didn't twist mine. I was not given anything, I bought what I wanted. Most of us poor folks don't have Peterbilts or Macks to pull trailers like you indicate you want the mfg's to build.

Yes I was being silly sorry.
Are you talking about a dual receiver for the back of your tow vehicle?
if so some have done it if you have the room.
Do a search on bike rack in the forum you'll find several posts of doing so.
No apology necessary. I just wasn't sure if what I looked at (the dual receiver) was a goofy thought. Thanks for the idea-I will check out the posts on bike racks in the forum.
I am very new to all of this and feel a bit overwhelmed. But, still very excited about our new adventures.
