Now I've gone and done it. Finally.

Having grown weary of holding the record for number of days participating in several RV forums while not actually OWNING an RV....

This morning about 10:00 am Eastern Time we placed an order with deposit for a Rockwood 8280SS 5th wheel with RVWholesalers. The sales guy said the order will go to the factory this afternoon and the wait time for "out the factory door" is 55 - 60 calendar days. Should have it in time do get in a little camping before Sweet Wife returns to her teaching duties.

Now I gotta get a hitch!!

And since this is the RV Economics forum, they were $7399 under MSRP!

And being on all those forums, including this one, has saved me untold hassle and a whole lot of money!

Ummm. yeah sorta. The HF is a Kenwood TS-570, 9 bands 100 watts out. That gets shared with the house, I'm not buying another one. $$$$$ I have a VHF/UHF mobile left over from upgrading one of our cars, and that will go in permanently. The cool thing is they both run on 12 vdc, no shore power needed. I/we chose this floorplan because Sweet Wife likes the kitchen and I like the space in front of the picture window for a radio set up!
