VIN numbers

Does anybody know how to read the VIN to find out the unit number? What I mean is the number that tells where the unit is in the total production of the given model. For instance is it the third one or the fiftyith one,and how many total were even built?

Man, you gonna make me work. I actually posted this a few months ago and now have to go find it.

I'll find it and edit this post with it.

Here is a pdf I previously post that shows that the 12-17 numbers of the VIN are the production numbers. This is for travel trailers, and there is another pdf around here that has the motorhome codes. I thought I had a more updated one (2013) than this 2006 one.

As far as how many were ever built, that wouldn't be known just from the VIN and you would have to ask FR Inc for that information.
