Widespread FR Recall for Wheel Bearings

Forest River recalls some 2019 trailers for axle problem

Excerpt:
Forest River is recalling certain 2019 Coachmen Catalina and Apex travel trailers and Forest River Shasta, Wildwood, Salem, Vibe, Sierra, Sandpiper, XLR and Prime Time travel trailers. The axles may be missing inner bearing races on the hubs, which can cause the bearing to burnout or cause the hub to overheat.

More than just FR trailers are being effected by this recall. Almost any trailer using Lipert axles of that manufacturing date range are being recalled.

Jim,
Thanks for posting the link to the recall. I browsed that site and found a recall that may include my trailer. It seems the breakaway switch may be wired incorrectly and the brakes won't activate in the event of a disconnect.

Everyone should keep an eye on that site.

I suspect, based on the recalled models listed, that the problem is in the 5k Lippert axles. But not enough info is listed for that.
