World Ends Today: Film At 11:00!!
OK, everybody just calm down. The Main Stream media says we are in a recession and we are not: A recession is two consecutive quarters of negative GNP growth and we have NOT had that.
Sure the banks are in trouble. They got greedy and stupid and made a couple million bad loans to people they should not have. Now the economic system is correcting that. It will work out.
After 9/11, the stock market "crashed"...but it recovered in 59 days.
The Stock market has made money 100% of the time in any 10 year span and 97%of the time in any 5 year span. Take a breath. When the market is down, that's when you buy. Keep funding your 401K and your Roth IRA. Relax. You're in K-mart and the blue light just came on.
The feds cut the prime 3/4 of a per cent today. That means nothing to you, unless, if and until the banks pass that along in rates, and they likely won't.
It is a good time to be out of debt. Cut up your credit cards if you haven't already.
Oil is down 13% from $100 a barrel, the President wants more tax cuts and just might get them, the Fed cut the prime. Spring is just around the corner, the weather and the economy will both improve over time.
Find a state park and go camping.
Gheeez...

I agree!!! Everyone over reacts. At my age, life is good if you wake up, and I woke up this morning.
I live in Cut & Shoot, TX., just 50 miles north of Houston. The economy is really good here. If someone in the Houston area is not working, that means they don't want to or are too particular. I am self emplyed and last year was the best year I have ever had and this one seems to be following suit. Gee, just when I wanted to slow down and think about retireing. Guess I will wait another year. You know, then my 401K will be back up (grin).
Thanks for the roport.
By the way, I used to be active in the weather watch volunteer program. Have had too many close encounters with tornadoes. Your posting on tornado preparedness was very good. Keep up the great work.
Yep, go camping. I use every excuse I can get to take the RV out. Visit relatives and friends, go to Wal-Mart, and yes, even to my business meetings with customers.
Happy camping,

The Sky is Falling!!!!!
The company I work for has seen the best growth in the past year since it started 25 years ago. We hired over 1000 new employees in 2007 and continue to grow 1-08.
So where is the problem? Personally I have seen better times but I have also seen much worse in my life and I will make it.
Car = paid for
Camper = paid for
Golf cart = paid for
Land in TN = paid for
Cost of living = SUCKS!
House and truck financed and only 1300.00 in credit debt. Credit card debt could go tomorrow as well as the truck if I had to.
CD's GOOD
401 K is stable
Mike.

They are one card in the safe and not used in months. One card cut up and gone. I carry one on business travel for emergencies now.

I went out this morning and the sky, remarkably, was right where the Good Lord left it.
Amazing. That little chicken gets it wrong every time.

You pretty much knew when the banks were lending $350,000 for a home valued at $250,000 to people who couldn't afford $150,000, they were either watching WAY too much "Flip That House" or the entire system had come unhinged. Greed, pure and simple.
