Bike Rack

Has anyone ever installed a bike rack on their travel trailer. We have a 17' Stampede Hybrid. I can't think of a convenient way to bring the family bikes camping with us. I would appreciate any ideas from anybody.

Do a search on Frf "bike rack" you'll have tons of reading to make an informative decision on whether you should do of what you ask.

hundreds of posts on this subject.
whatever you do, don't attach a rack to the bumper.

ultra-lite trailers, like hybrids, have thin-walled bumpers with cheap welds, that will fail if a loaded bike rack is attached to it.

to Forest River Forums

Bike racks on the bumper, or as an after-market addition to the frame, is a BIG topic. I think everyone with an ultralight or lightweight trailer or fifth wheel would love this option.

Granted, I'm not as familiar with the Stampede as other hybrids, but I really doubt you can do this safely. All sorts of issues can (and probably will) result: Bikes and rack falling off the trailer and into traffic, bent bumper, frame damage, etc.

There are hundreds of posts on the forum and feel free to search for Bike Rack to get an idea.

Again, welcome and glad to have you aboard.

A recent thread involved a member with a bent frame most likely from a bike rack; long trailer; and a bumpy road.
