Bunk end latch on new hybrid??

Here's my first real question about our new Wildwood 17 EXL. I noticed today after closing up the side bunk that the back latch handle/lever is rather loose when in the closed position. It will actually rattle around a bit when in the latched position. It is completely inside the latch lock and the lock is fully closed. The other side has some resistance against it and seems as I would assume it should (putting a bit of pressure against the bunk. The seal looks even all the way around the bunk. After looking quickly at the latch I don't see any obvious adjustments you can make to the handle/lever. There is a "tension block" (my term) that lays under the handle. I haven't measured it yet - could it be to short? Any insight from anyone? I may give the dealer a call tomorrow and see if they have an answer. Really hoping I haven't found an early defect!

should be a hard foam/rubber block under the handle that puts pressure on the door. either it's missing or it's the wrong size.
