Bob,
Can I see your pics of the fix. I just got a 04 25bh roo and have to do exactly what you did. Did you get all of your supplies from FR?

Shaun, since I replaced my front bed core, I asked FR to provide one that was already setup for the new style latch, bought the latches and matching mating arms, and lock sets. The only material I supplied was the aluminum backing plates (stock cut to size), the SS hardware, and some vinyl trim to use as a spacer (not sure I even needed that). FR folks indicated new campers were designed with a stronger bracing for these latches, but older models may not hold. THis has worked fine, and you cannot see the backing plates with the curtains to the sides.

Video on installing bunk end latches

Sorry for bumping this old thread. Really appreciate all the info from everyone regarding the process. Thought I'd take it a step further and add some additional help for those looking for more examples of installing bunk end latches, like I was. See below for a link to the video I created on the process I used to replace the screw down latches on our hybrid travel trailer.
