Cupboard doors in the 19 and other models

On the 19 Roo/Shamrock the doors above the galley open Left to Right, or vice-versa depending on the door.

I keep hitting my head on the corners when they're open.

Over last week we had dinner at some friends in their older Jayco trailer, and their doors open against the ceiling.

I had an Ha Ha moment... could I convert my doors to open that way too, I could reposition the hinges, fill the holes nicely, get some thingy to prop/keep them open from Home Depot or something.

Has anyone done this already ?

Regards to all and hope you have great summer.

u could and u would have to have something to keep them open.
also consider if u or a shorter person would be able to reach them when they are open

You might want to purchase a type of hinge that is spring-loaded so as to keep the door open/up and also to keep the door closed/down.

Out TT has one that opens up and I like it, with one wide door and no middle bar - except that there is no prop or hold open - a PITA to get things in and out and I use an elbow or my head to keep it open. I put the coffee pot, toaster, and dog dishes up there so while camping we don't need access to anything in it which helps since my wife is 5' nothin.

The doors on my Flagstaff open upwards and has a small gas strut on either side to keep it up. You could probably find a similar strut at CW or contact Forest River. The doors on my slide open down and have a spring loaded hinge to keep them closed. These doors are very small though and I don't think the hinges would handle much weight.

I use this type of spring-loaded strut and they hold just fine. They are a little tricky to install but worth the effort. Make sure you use a long screw or they will eventually work free. RV Cabinet Door Strut Spring Loaded - LOT OF 6 | eBay

That does look a lot like the struts on my Flagstaff except mine have a bracket on both ends

Princess auto sell the gas struts. You have to go to the store to check inventory.

I ordered them - a set of 6 - enough for 3 doors.

I understand what you meant by the long screw.

I'm trying to understand how to install them now... they are extended now, so I need to simply let them be, and screw the door part and the pivot point a long screw to the frame. When I close the door, it will compress and stay closed.

Do you have pics of your installation ?

Thanks.
