Did they ruin our camper
We proudly adopted our brand new camper in April, and immediately began adapting it to being ours. There was a few things that required warranty repair, and the parts were ordered. the big one was replacing the front tent end...So on Wed we go to pick it up, get there and open it up to review the work....DW and I almost broke down crying...
IT WAS GONE !!!!!
7 trips of campfire aroma gone....replaced with the smell of brand new vinyl...
Its home and opened to air out some, but our next trip is in 2 weeks, and we wont have a fire near the camper.
maybe some camp fire scented candles????
anyone have other suggestions???

I had to read the post 3 times to figure out what was gone. You're upset because your camper doesn't smell like smoke?

This is a fun jest about how a canvas camper smells...but the "new" smell is overpowering. had to laugh at the smoked sea salt....got a large container of it in my Chuck Box.

You might try roasting your Thanksgiving turkey in your camper this year. And while your at it just prepare your whole dinner in it and you should be able to smell Thanksgiving for the rest of your camping experience.

Various grocery stores and Wal-Mart have cinnamon scented pine cones that will overpower anything you have smelling up the trailer! Also, we just purchased from Amazon some mice repellent (not poison) that smells good to humans. Don't know how well it works, but it does have a pleasant odor.

Burn some popcorn in your camper. The smell will linger for quite a while.

Yep, the camper is ruined.
Might as well throw it away and buy a new one now.

F.r.o.g., Boso, andTwojump36, all great ideas! You can't burn leaves in my subdivision in today's world. But when I was a kid in the 50's, my father would rake our leaves onto the side of the street, light em up, and watch over the fire with a rake in one hand, a beer in the other, BSing with the neighbors! What a wonderful time to be a kid.

Take a little steamer into your kitchen area, then, in the bottom, place 1 con-o-beer, 2 Tb of Old Bay, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, and 1 cup water, and stir completely. Then bring solution to a boil, fill the steamer rack with shrimp size of your choice, place it on the steamer, cover, and let it fester for about 20 minutes. Ten, crack open the cocktail sauce and the rest of the 12-pack of beer, and relax in a shrimp feast frenzy. Take a nap after engorging yourself, and clean the pot when you wake up. Vinyl will net be smelled, ever-again in that camper, Or, just by a big-ole can-o-butthurt cream, use it, and go on with life!
