This is only a mod for Winter or cold right bc I am getting a Roo 231KSS and was hoping just to season the ends and not have to do other mods on the tent ends?

The pugs have many advantages. Assist in keeping heat in or out depending on conditions. Help to keep tree sap from staining fabric (keeps them clean, looking new) keeps the inside dark for sleeping. We fitted Velcro as mentioned in one of the threads.

PUGs really help with the condensation on the inside of the tent ends as well.
Best mod you can get for a hybrid, IMHO

Our toys are almost all trailer and just enough tent to act like one. I like mine though! no condensation problems until a very chilly night, 4 adults breathing and turned the heat on.

PUGS on top of the tent ends will help with condensation, insulation, and daylight. To further insulate the tent ends, get a roll of Reflectix from Lowes and cut panels to fit into the zippered windows in the tent ends. This makes a huge difference in temperature control.
