Gap

Hey new guy here and I got a question. I picked up an 02 roo 21 last night for a pretty good deal. Does anyone know why there would be a gap at the bottom when the bunk is folded up?

Looks like the piano hinge is tilted forward.
I would guess there is water damage under the hinge.

Looks like the gasket is missing, I believe there should be a gasket between the bunk and the frame. Do you have another bunk you can compare this one to?

My first concern is not the hinge but the wood sill its screwed into, due to water intrusion. The wood could have swollen.
A bad hinge would be less likely.
I doubt that FR would have a hinge for a nearly 20 year old hybrid.

X2 on the gasket. Should be a seal around that edge.

I'll open it up and take a better look at it when I get home today. It rained all day yesterday and I didn't get a chance to look at it. Thanks for the help!

Pic 1 looks like the door is past level.
Is the door frame cracked at the corner, by the hinge?

It is past level, I have it resting on the jack handle. Just that peice of trim is cracked. The back bunk shuts tight. It looks like somebody had the bunk off and didn't put back the hinge were its supposed to be.

That's not trim, it's the bunk door frame. And that crack will allow water to seep into the bunk door platform sandwich and cause delamination. Mine was welded where that crack is. You need to compare it to the other bunk door frame.

I have another newbie question. If water (its cold) comes out of the hot water side of the sink faucet does that mean the hot water tank is full? I have it hooked up to a hose from the house.

If you don't have the WH on, then yes.
If the WH is on, either propane or electric, and you're getting cold water out of the faucet, then something is wrong. Main cause would be bypass valves in wrong positions.

As far as I know there is no on/off switch on this model. The reason I'm asking is I dont want to light the pilot if the tank is empty.

Ziondog, yes. If you’re hooked up to a water source (or using the fresh water tank with the pump on), and you have water coming out of the hot water faucet, it is safe to light the water heater. Run the water for a minute to get the air out and you’re good to go!
