Grill swing

We have a 2015 21SS, while at the Toronto RV show today we saw quite a few units with the grill on the bumper on a swing arm, has anyone added this to their hybrid? I like the idea of maximizing the under awning space and get the grill on the bumper.

I do not have a hybrid. So I be wrong about responding to your question. I am on my second rv and I speak to this from my perspective.

My first thought is to be able to use the grill, will it make your parking decisions for you? Everywhere I have been is a little different and based on the lay of the land and I have found that a portable grill lets me use it in the optimal location.

Good luck with your choice. We all have a plan and may yours be the best.

We had a bumper mount for the grill on our old TT. The grill was removed for transport. The brand that came with our trailer was Aussie. I saw the same grill under other labels as a table top at outdoor and RV stores. I liked it but it wasn't of the quality of something like a Weber Q. The arm had enough movement that it could be positioned to keep smoke away from the area under the awning. In our case it was also nice as it was just off the door so when it was raining I could step out under the awning to flip the food or what ever. For the new trailer I went with a Weber Q for better cooking and adapted it to run off the TT regulated LP supply.

We had a 2015 ikss and the grill was an option on ours. The bracket and grill should be available to purchase from your dealer.
That being said, it wasn't a very good unit. It was flimsy, had hot spots, and was hard to clean.
I now have a Weber Q. Almost the equal to my Weber at home. No swing arm but a much better grilling experience

One of the first things I did when our new trailer got home was take off the grill arm before it started to rust. That way I could sell it in new condition. Never used it or the cheap grill that came with it.

We love ours. Not the biggest or best quality in the world, but it is very convenient and stores nicely. Had to replace the heat shield, but otherwise it has held up well.

Our unit already had the swing arm attached along with the grill. The swing arm is convenient, but it does place the grill close enough to the rear bunk that we often have to close the bunk flaps so odors don't enter the RV.

The gas line pulls out from the RV's rear so it is convenient to attach. If your line comes out the side of your 21SS, you might want to check to see if its long enough to reach a swing arm mount.

We use the swing arm/grill only for long week-end trips as it is convenient. If we're in a site for a week or more I set up a cooking area away from our camper with a different gas grill or charcoal/wood.
