Have you looked at the pics on PUG'S website?
You use the same clamps to attach to the rain gutter.
If yours doesn't have them, give Bob Pitney at PUGs, a call.
He'll help you out.

I added Velcro to ours and it works great. One side stuck to the inner lip and the other sewn onto the outside of the pug.

What kind of Velcro will withstand the weight of the PUG? Is there a heavy duty Velcro strip you can recommend?

The velcro strip is used instead of the clamps that normally affix the one end of the pug to the camper.
Many have called Bob at Popup Gizmos to have the velcro sewn on before shipping. I believe he may charge a bit more. The "bungee cords" are still used to anchor the pug to the remainder of the canvas bunk end.
We used the heavy duty industrial type velcro.
You may have to zoom into the photos to see the strips of velcro attached.

Great idea! I'm trying to see if I can find materials to sew my own. The Gizmo web site has unclear photos and descriptions. Is there padding or insulation in between the top and bottom layers? I thought I could make silver 'quilts' to fit, so to speak. If the materials cost more than PUGs it may not be worth the trouble though.

What is the difference between the super high wind and the high wind covers other than the super high are $50 more for the pair? Are the super high ones really worth the extra money? I wonder if the super high covers are thicker quality or the same material as the high wind?

The pugs do not have any insulation or padding in them. They are made of space blanket material. The edges are finished and there is shock cording running from side to side. Many have made their own from sewing the good quality space blankets together. They are not cheap, but are worth every penny.
We use the PUGs with the additional reflectix cut to proper size for the windows. Much cooler in the summer and warmer in colder weather. And it's much easier to wipe/wash bird poop or stains off the pugs instead of the canvas.

Are they the super high or just the high blankets?

We purchased the super high wind set. I'm not sure but I believe they are reinforced where the shock cords are located. I would not hesitate to call Bob at Popup Gizmos with any questions you may have.

By the time you add up the cost of your materials and time and wonder if you cut it right you would be better off purchasing them from Bob and be comfortable knowing that they will be right.

Yeah, I searched all over the Internet for materials that I could use, no go. The insulation material that would work, is sold in majorly large quantities only, and the space blankets x 3 for a hybrid, are to much per to save, as well as too small.

I found the blankets under $9. So I will give it a go. I also found an old tutorial on how to construct the covers. I am a sewer and quilter, and would like to see if I can make then a tad bit more attractive, or make them blend in a little more. We are not likely to need them until we just do. This will be a project for after we pick up the new hybrid, when it warms up.
