Played with the trailer some more this weekend. Turns out the stereo has a balance feature where you can adjust the volume for the interior vs external speakers.

Now the internal speakers play at a comfortable level while the external are loud enough to enjoy in the yard.

The Bluetooth feature on ours works really well too. The stereo shows up as wireless headphones when in discovery mode.

Outside speakers?

@pohlaj, you can't just say there is a feature to balance the speakers and then not give additional details. What stereo do you have? I would love to balance my speakers but unsure how I balance the interior vs the exterior.

Hey guys,
Sorry about that, that was kinda mean of me.

Ok, so I have a Genesis Technologies as you can see in the photo.

My rig is a 2014 Roo 183 so this is the newest version of this radio with Bluetooth, etc.

To balance the speakers I hit the video/audio button repeatedly until it showed BAL 0 (the button just above my finger in the photo).

Once it was on BAL 0 I hit the volume down button until reaching L5. L5 seemed to be the best setup for my taste. It seems the higher the L number the quieter the interior speakers were set, so L1 is louder inside then L5.

I don't think it matters but when I made my adjustments I had all three zones turned on (A,B and C).

One thing to note, if you use your battery disconnect when closing up the camper for storage all settings are lost.

Sorry for my lack of detail before I blame the hot sun and beer on Sunday afternoon when I figured this out.

Thanks for the tip! I'll be trying this out next go-round.

I appreciate it!

That doesn't sound right. That setting (BAL) is the left/right balance. If you're managing to adjust inside vs outside with it, then something's probably not wired right.

By adjusting to L5, you should be putting all the sound to the left speaker(s). Adjusting the other way to R5 should put all the sound to the right hand speaker(s). This should be the same inside or outside.

Try to get close to each speaker individually and identify if it's playing sound or not. Adjust them and check again. If it is in fact splitting between inside and outside then you've got something miswired.

Might be fine to exploit this to get your music one way or the other, but you'll probably notice an issue if you play a DVD. You'll be hearing the voices of characters on the right hand side of the screen inside the trailer and those on the left hand side of screen are going to be playing on the outside speakers.

Good point!

You know, I only found one speaker for each of my interior zones (A and B). I'll have to poke around a bit more to see if there are speakers that are not hooked up correctly.

Honestly, I did not put my ear close enough to the two outside speakers to see if one was substantially quieter then the other.
