Bonnie
I did signup before our first long trip last summer. The cost was less than one night in a typical campground, so I figured it was worth it. We stopped overnight at a Cracker Barrel on the way from SC to NJ, and at a Gander Mtn. on the way back home. They have a lot of info on their site, and I think it already paid for itself. If you provide feedback on the places you stay, they will usually add a month to your subscription.

One of the most helpful things is that even though certain companies like WalMart, Cracker Barrel, Cabelas, etc. may allow overnight parking, some towns do not allow it, and the town laws will trump any corporate policy.

The only thing I wish was that the site had a mobile app for doing lookups. Right now, the only way to access the site is with a browser and it isn't super mobile friendly when using a phone. But from a laptop or tablet it is ok. The developer is working on a mobile app, so once that is available, it will be terrific.

just be careful how much you use that inverter, especially if you have only one battery on your trailer and no generator to recharge it.

Good point. Fortunately, the only time we are off the grid is when we are traveling from point A to point B and we have to stop overnight in a parking lot.

It might be worth your while to try the Allstays Camp & RV app. $10 is hard to swallow, but it seems to reflect similar information.

Got that one too. I'm an IT guy so I always have a backup.

So is the Allstays really all? (Why do I get the feeling of déjà-vu on this question?).

We don't do road trips so I don't really need to have information on the fly. But I am often frustrated that sites like rvparkreviews and good sams only have like 1/3 of the known parks in the area. $10 might be worth it if I could actually have a comprehensive database of parks I can go to.

It's been really impressive for the bit that we used it. I can take some screenshots of problems areas that you know of if it helps you decide.

My parents always overnight in Wally World when they do their trips from Vermont to Florida and back (or on their many other road trips). They have never had a problem. I have an Rpod expandable, which I can turtle in if necessary (my granddaughters and I have done this, they are 2 and 4)... but I have a really comfy bunk that I usually sleep in. I also have never had an issue with Wally World. It is good manners to call ahead just so someone knows you're out there, I've found we're less likely to be bothered.
