I didn't have time to post all the Andersen issues earlier, but I split the fiction material liner that surrounds the ball. Andersen sent me a replacement liner under warranty (They said the chains were to tight but remember they told me to get chains tighter). There is a video on how to replace the liner. No where near as easy as they make it appear. Never was able to change liner, it needed to be pressed out and back in. There was also sufficient amount of wear on the ball, so would imagine there is wear inside the hitch itself just can't see it.

The new washers and shorter springs make tightening a non-issue. You can really crank on them now, but there is still a spring compression limit.

The lining material has also changed. The old material was wearing out too quickly and when dirt/dust got in there it started making noise. Silence was one of my purchase requirements. My liner (and ball) came out just as easy as the video showed. It didn't go back in as easily. That took a long trip to reset where the C clip would go back on. There was 0 wear inside the hitch other than the lining.

I am still not sure I would go the Andersen route with an 11K TW, though. I think I would just get a 5er

Thanks for the info on the updated Andersen parts madmaxmutt. I did not know about. Not having issues with my 3 year old setup but think I'll contact them for the new parts anyway.

We put 11k miles on it this year. I started seeing the noise symptom after about 8k IIRC.

Thanks again. I estimate I have about 12000 on mine in the last 2 years. No noise but I'll take the ball out and check the lining to be sure.

Reese dual cam here and love it. Rock solid feel driving down the road beside a big rig.

Might want to think twice about a Camco hitch...

I pulled a 27 ft. TT for a couple of years with an Andersen. Found the Andersen to be by far the best hitch I have used. I would still be using the Andersen but, we went to a 5er.
