rv anti freeze

this time of year we start thinking of winter storage, those of us that store outside and in the north. I was reading ads for labor day and saw Ace hardware had there Rv anti freeze on sale 2 for $7. I work for another big box store, not Ace just thoght this was a good price - this was an ad in southwest Pa. thought campers and boaters might like to know...

Yes, Fall is coming! I'm looking forward to at least one or two crisp - leaf crunching camping trips in the woods of IN, KY, TN.
BTW- Wally World house brand RV antifreeze is almost a buck cheaper at $2.58.
Happy Trails!

our local ace hardware normally runs some specials on antifreeze at $1.99/gal limit 2. at least they have in the past. i'll watch their ads and if it goes on special again i guess i'll have to make a couple of runs to get stock for the winter.

Keep an eye on the amount of propylene-glycol in the product. Some of the aggressively priced Cheap Charlie's Camper Club house brands may be simply watered down. Typical Marne/RV antifreeze, aka "the pink stuff" is about 30% propylene-glycol. A few % either way doesn't matter much.

Propylene-glycol is often called "non-toxic". Significantly LESS toxic (than ethyl-glycol) is probably more accurate. NEVER use ethyl-glycol based anti-freeze, or even propylene-glycol with rust inhibitors etc in the RV fresh water system or anything other than systems that call for it!
