Season bunk ends?
What does season the bunk ends mean? Do you mean seal the seams?
I am interested in this thread because an HTT is in our near future.

BigBaron,
I moved your post to its own thread.
Basically, the manufacturer recommends getting your bunk ends wet and allowing to dry. This allows the stitching to swell and seal properly.

BigBaron, seasoning tent ends is not just a hybrid thing, it's common in popups too.

Really? I've never seen or heard of it before now. Anywhere.

I've never heard of this before. Anywhere. Doesn't sound kosher to me, but I don't have details.
Seams shouldn't leak. Period.

I know its fairly common nowadays, but was not with the first pup I had - a 1970's era Jayco which used regular canvas.
Now, most brands of hybrids include the instruction to "season" and I understand many pups do, too.
I believe I seasoned three times. Spray the tents or let sit out in a rain. Allow to dry completely and then do it again. The threading will expand with the water and better seal the seam.
