Wash & Wax
We just brought home our new to us Rockwood Roo 21SS and wanted to get recommendations for what products are best to wash & wax it. I’ve also seen cleaners specifically for the roof and wanted to know if it’s necessary to use a separate cleaner for it.
Thanks everyone!

I love WashWax All. Was developed for aircraft, very easy to use. Does a great job, and is good for the roof too. Google it and look at the RV videos.
Good stuff.

Wash & Wax
Wash with water and Meguires boat wax. Clean with Meguires detailing spray, then two coats of Meguires Pure Wax if in excellent condition, or Meguires Marine/RV cleaner wax. Apply by hand or Random Otbital Buffer (I recommend Griots Garage 6” buffer with a red waxing pad). I use Lucas Oil Speed Shine on the black steel tongue & rear bumper and on the brown trim at the base. Aluminum wheel cleaner for the wheels and Hot Shine tire dressing (two coats with drying in between). For the roof use the Dicor roof cleaner, then seal any cracking seals with Dicor self-leveling lap sealant in a caulking gun. After it dries, coat with Dicor roof protectant. Use either Camco or Thetford awning cleaner, and black streak remover spray if needed. Rain-X spray automotive glass cleaner finishes off the exterior windows.
I clean interior hard surfaces with Windex Vinegar cleaner, including floor, and use a furniture polish applied to a microfiber towel for all the cabinetry. Mr Clean Magic Erasers are about the only thing that effectively cleans the textured interior door.
Finally, hit the slide-out seals with seal protectant aerosol, spray slide out lube in the gears/racks, and underneath hit any spots on the frame that might be starting to rust with a spray of Fluid Film.
Never use a citrus-based cleaner on the roof or shower; they can be damaged.

Oh my goodness. Do you have a day job? Where do you find the time to do all that work?

I've used both Wash Wax All and Meguiar's Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax. I now mostly use the Meguiar's. At one point I cleaned 1/2 of the back of my trailer with each (ran out of one) and it seemed to me that the Meguiar's did a slightly better job. That and it is available from lots of places.
At the recommendation of one of the Forest River guys last year at the International Rally, I use Meguiar's 50 Marine/RV One Step Cleaner Wax. He recommended either Meguiar's or Mothers and said Meguiar's offered better bang for the buck (it's less expensive).
Bottom line from the FR guy:
1. Any good auto wash / wax will do.
2. Do NOT use Dawn to wash if you have fiberglass walls - it will eat into the fiberglass.
3. Avoid stuff with lots of petroleum distillates, they will destroy any decals.

I have an RV garage and can detail off-season and late nights even while it is windy or raining. It’s a relaxing and productive way to enjoy the camper off-season... a great stress reliever.

Here's an interesting site that offers RV Product Reviews on many items including wash and wax products.

Just used the Meguiar’s cleaner and wax on mine. It was pretty good to begin with, no oxidation, just some slight black streaking.
The stuff goes on and comes off pretty easy. I bought foam/sponge bonnet for my random orbital buffer to apply it and that made quick work of covering such a large surface area. I wouldn’t do the job without it.
Shined up nice and removed all black streaks so Im pleased with it.
Having said all this, Turtle Wax Wax and Dry is my favorite product. My daughter knows I'm sort pretty particular about keeping my stuff nice and got me this as stocking stuffer one Christmas. I was hesitant at first but started using it on my truck and was so amazed with the results I started using it on the boat and RV.
After you wash and rinse, spray it on and dry with a towel as you normally would. It's not going to remove black streaks or oxidation but provides a great shine and UV protection. It doesn't contain any petroleum products so it's safe for decals and all plastics too. The stuff is amazing and so simple, I use it every other time I wash and it keeps everything beading up and looking new.
The camper sat for 5 months this winter, I removed the cover and washed it an the water was still beading up...

I run mine through the local big rig/RV manual wash. It has a cat walk on both sides so I get the roof also. Flip the switch to wax/clear coat/ UV protectant, $6 bucks & all is done.
