I know a guy that makes a decent living off buying totaled home built airplanes from insurance companies. He parts them out and sells the parts on web sites like Barnstormers ect. I have watched him buy a wrecked plane for $12,000 and make $15,000 in profit off the parts and engine in just a week or so. He has built up a customer base of guys that want the cheaper salvaged parts and he keeps very little inventory due to demand. I wonder if there is anyone in the RV community who is doing that?
