Winterization

Does anyone know what the PSI is to blow the lines out to winterize? It’s a 2016 233s. Thanks in advance

If your water pressure regulator is set to 45 psi, than I'd say using 45 psi is fine.

That's what I do.

Add the anti-freeze. I made the mistake thinking blowing out the lines would do it on our last camper just like it does on a sprinkler system. They sell so many of those toilet valves every spring because of the blow out doesn't get all of the water and all it take is less than a thimble full that will run back down the inside of the rim where the water comes out back onto the valve and freeze and crack it. Then the valve is overpriced and on my camper required removing the whole toilet to get to it, that's a crappy job in itself.

The rv antifreeze is so cheap, why add the step blowing out the lines first? the antifreeze will push out the water. Just make sure to bypass the hot water heater.

PS you won't know it is split until you go fill the system up in the spring, and pressurize it with the pump or the outside hose. Then it starts flooding the bathroom with no isolation possible meaning the whole system is down until fixed. Hopefully this isn't as you planned on leaving for vacation!

I’ve always blown out the lines before, this also removes the water in the city water line hookup, then I also add antifreeze, never had a problem in any of my campers I’ve owned and used this process, I know it’s probably overkill or an extra step but I know it’s straight antifreeze all the way thru the unit... I also spray out the tank flush fitting with minimal air to be sure that’s cleared out as well..

I live near Pittsburgh PA... in the early fall I'll use the pressure method to blow out the lines, but prior to putting her away for the winter, I'll pump antifreeze into all the water lines. Better safe then sorry

Same process here in Syracuse NY

I blow the lines at 40 PSI. It's easy, quick and can save a lot of heartache. Antifreeze is cheap, about $2.50 a gallon and I generously push it through the lines, drains and tanks.

I do the same, set the dial to 40 psi & blow-out all lines. Then generously use RV antifreeze until it runs through every line. The gray & black tanks are empty so I let the antifreeze build-up around the waste valves & low point drains so the seals do not freeze/crack.

Make sure you drain your HW tank & bypass it when adding antifreeze.
