Fort Leonard Wood Piney River Camp

Has anyone stayed here within the last year or so. As I understand it it is boondocking at its best but wanted a more update view of the campground if possible since on the US Military Campground site the last review was in October 14. If you have stayed here, can you tell me what your thoughts are on it. I am not expecting much just a place to stay while attending family day and graduation day for my Grandson.

Hoo Boy yeah back in 1968 we bivouaced there. Went back on a NG annual training in 1987 and it was still there. Sorry I know that don't help much.
But if I remember right it's just an open area by the bridge.

This is a very rustic and primitive area to park an RV along the Big Piney River about 5 miles from the main post. This camping area is located on post. Campers may use this area without reservations, fees, or check-in. There is room for tents and RV's to dry-camp. NOT FOR BIG RIGs.

You might as well stay at Walmart parking lot.
