You and I (arctic wolf) may not of seen combat... But we voluntarily signed on the line because we loved our country. We got paid crap and put up with crappy conditions... we didn't whine about the politics, we didn't whine about the conditions. We did our job. I look at these whiners these days and truly believe we are the last of the greatest generation. These millennials just don't get it.

Thanks.
And I think for the most part you're right the next generation is pretty pathetic.
But not all of them...

The ones coming through our doors are mostly pathetic... Very rare to find a millennial that is not.

There is always the few. Didn't mean to get too political. I just love my country and that's why I bought an RV to explore all the great things it has to offer!

You sign the papers, raise your right hand, take the oath. Then you go where they send you & do what they tell you. Don't belittle your service because it wasn't combat. That risk was always present.

I was told it takes 5 - 9 to support each 1 in combat. I'm happy those support personnel were on the large installations in country and in the states. Any time I hear someone say (just heard it again yesterday) "I never saw combat" I tell them 'be happy about that and I'm happy you did not'. Thankfully, only a small percentage in country saw combat but something never forgotten no matter how hard one may try. Thank you for your service,

AlanSandy thank you for your service. Tuckerdog... Amen brother. Dock73... this is why I can't be quiet. Too much disrespect... Too much self glorification for a non- purposeful life. So much selfishness and not enough selflessness...

Hey guys & Gals, late to the party as usual.

Arctic Thanks for your service. Support for combatants is equally important imho
Grandfather --- Army Spanish American War non combatant
Father --- Army WWII- 41st Infantry Sunset Division Msgt Bronze Star Combatant
Brother -- Marines Vietnam Era non combatant
Myself --- Navy Vietnam Era/Cold War Missile Fire Control E5 Non combatant

Father in law Army WWII non combatant
Brother in law Army Rangers Vietnam Era LT. Helo Pilot non combatant

My son was not allowed to sign on when he tried -- health issue
My daughter now regrets she did not go in as a doctor

Have 7 grand kids I am hoping at least a couple "sign the line" and do what is needed. At least they will grow to respect our country and all service personnel.

Not bragging here. Just showing that many are stationed in positions that end up being non combatant but just as necessary!

Again Thank you and ALL of the people whether retired/active/or served our country and answered the call.

Where's the beer!
