1972 to 1983.
USAF Pararescue;
Technically I was in USAF tho outside of year 1 I never really worked for them.
Spent most of last tenish years working for an obscure DOD unit called the JPRC (Joint Personnel Recovery Center). This past winter I ran into some SEALs at Pacific Beach Shore Club in San Diego (Shore Club in PB is a Big NAVY hang) and they told me that unit - JPRC - still exists. We had good jaw and they bought the old man here a couple gin n tonics.

US Army, Nov 1983 to Oct 2004, Retired SFC, Traffic Management Specialist. Served most of my time overseas, Korea, Germany, Italy, Turkey and lots of side trips to other not so fun destinations. Wouldn't trade my time in the military for anything.

AKMark, Where were you at in Turkey? I was stationed at Incirlik Air Base 1979-1981 (got credit for a long tour by doing two years in Turkey). It was a good assignment. Very interesting to say the least.

Incirlik Air Base 2003-2004, was suppose to be a jumping off point for land forces into Northern Iraq during the 2nd Gulf War. Spent a year in Turkey moving our equipment from Incirlik to the border and back. Retired once my unit returned to Italy.
