US Air Force. B-52G Master Crew Chief. 1984-1992. Loring AFB Maine, Andersen AFB Guam, Castle AFB CA. Deployed Desert Storm veteran. Many TDY locations throughout the world. Was forced out at the prime of my career during first BRAC in early '90's. Still bitter about that as I intended on retiring after serving a full career.
Lots of great memories, enjoyed my time in the AF, working for the military as a civilian now, 2 tours in Iraq, 2 tours in Afghanistan, but not the same as being active duty...

Retired 25 years. Three years active with 82nd and 101st Abn Divs, 66-69. Vietnam 67 Aug 68 with 101st. Remaining time with
Ct Army National Guards. Proud of all the people I served with. My profile picture is a painting on the back of my boat. Which I will
be placing on the back of my camper when it comes in. The names are the "Brothers" I lost in Vietnam. They can't go, so I take them with me.
I thank all of you for your service. Welcome home!

I was at Dyess from January1961 till April of 1963. There were two B47 wings there then, the 341st and 96th. The C130 had just finished moving in.
I imagine it's all changed now.
I been though and in Snyder a few times while stationed at the Lubbock FAA office.

Looking at Bing Maps, birdseye view (these photos are about 7-8 yrs old) I see 3 dozen B-1 bombers and 9-10 C-130's.
Lots of other AF and Navy air stations have not been so lucky. End of the cold war has shut many of them down.

Navy 89-96, Nuke submariner, MM "A" school in Orlando, class 8907 Nuke school. Three years on SSN 716 (SLC) in San Diego, 2 1/2 on The Holland (AS-32) in Guam. Got out as MM2/SS
Got out for 12, and went back into the Army (Guard) as an Environmental Science Officer for 3 1/2 years at a Med Bn. Had to get out right about the time I was due for Cpt.
My boat had many nukes turn into career officers or (DI) LDO's.

I was at NFAS when you went thru, don't remember whether I was teaching Basic Machinery or was a section advisor at that time, Think I was a section advisor, that was the year I made Chief and the next year I was selected for LDO. If nothing else, we have common backgrounds and speak the same technical language.
Thanks for your both of your services!

I'm sure we crossed paths then. Nice to hear from a fellow shipmate. Thanks for taking one for the team and moving over to the officer ranks. Some of us had to do it.
