Listing of Military RV Parks and Camgrounds
My fellow Military RV Campers,
When going onto this website look on the right near the top right where you will find a search BOX. Type in the Box the State name you are interested in camping and hit ENTER and a list of BASES, Military recreational Parks and Campgrounds will appear, Print the whole list or select the one and have a nice RV camping adventure with Family or Friends.

The new Good Sams camping guide has a section listing FAM Camps. And
Oh Yah, at about 0500 I will come around and bang my swagger stick on your trash can!

Stayed at Joint Base Charleston back in February. They played reville and Taps daily over a pa speaker in the CG.

Many military RV sites also allow reservations, FHU's, pull-thru's and very reasonable prices as well as nice locations. The URL previously provided is the best place to get started. Restrictions do apply based on having some form of Government Military/Civilian ID, i.e. AD military, Retiree or DoD Civilian. I believe Reservists also qualify. Again, the URL states those allowed to use

We were there in April staying in the overflow area just outside the Outdoor Recreation Center. I think that Big Voice was right outside the trailer! We missed reveille and retreat the first day but when Taps went off at 2200, I think I jumped😂
Even in overflow, it was a good place with friendly personnel in OR and great base facilities. Good location for getting into Charleston for sightseeing.

As far as I know, Canadian Armed Forces can only use American military campgrounds while they are stationed at a US base. Same goes for US military stationed at a Canadian base. But once your tour of duty in the US ends, so does access to MWR facilities.

I have had terrible luck getting reservations for these. Even though I am 100% disabled vet, I am always told I don't qualify. Tried 4 or 5 different camps on the list.

In a nut shell, 100%DAV is authorized at all US Military Campgrounds.
Being an honorably discharged vet is not authorized, unless there is another circumstance that does authorize the veteran (retired, 100%DAV, etc). ...
The Department of Defense has established DOD Instruction 1015.10, dated 31 Oct 96.
Just quote that and bring your VA/Military ID and proof of disability percentage.

Since some campground managers/hosts don't seem to know their own regulations, I would also bring a copy of those so you can show them that you qualify.

You also have to get up when they play reveille.
