Thanks so much to you all ! Great info from each of you! Airdale I went thru your entire blog last night, you've sir have done a bit of traveling, both in and out of the Navy ! Vince that's absolutely great info for my wife and me, as Jamestown/Williamsburg is on my to go list! And most importantly the info about Disney, as our granddaughter who was born with Spina Bifida and uses a wheelchair would dearly go to Disney! She's 7 now, not bad for a kid Dr's said wouldn't make it to term! I'd love to take her there, and the Half price will make it affordable. I'm working on converting her wagon to balloon tires for a beach trip in June!
Thanks again to all of you and thanks for serving our countru ! !

We stayed at Foster Creek RV Park in Goose Creek, SC which was nice. Sites are concrete, and level. Road in/around park is wide so easy in/out. It is very centrally located so close to all the Charleston Sites. Everyone at the campground was friendly. Doc, the camp host, is a sweetheart!
Thank you to all that serve or have served. God Bless our US Military!

military famcamps

I found a little free app called C-RV - it lets you do searches of all the states in a map format if you want and then you can drill down to the facility web site, if MWR set one up. I've noticed a few so far, that don't have a very good one or none at all. Not a fancy app but it does get you a start to decide if you want to research a particular FAMCAMP further...

If you ever visit Charleston, Foster Creek is way better than Charleston AFB:

U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks - Foster Creek RV Park and Villas

Kings Bay, GA also ROCKS - Don't forget to visit the nuke boat museum!

U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks - Eagle Hammock RV Park

You are correct on this point. An ID card is a must.

For 100% DISABLED VET you can obtain a DOD ACCESS CARD which as the name suggests gives you Access to base amenities such as campgrounds, Px, Exchanges, Commissary, MWR FACILITIES ECT:. I have a appointment end of the month at local Air National Guard to get Access Cards for my wife and me.
One campground in NC I called, require the card to even make a reservation.
