Sitting here ready all the different Mos's and AFSC's, have a lot of experience on the forum. I was drafted into the Army in 1969, served a year in Vietnam with the 101st as a Crewchief/Mechanic with A Battery, 377th Arty, AVN, 101st ABN. Div at Camp Eagle, SVN. I got out of the Army in 1972. I was a 67N20. I joined the 118th Airlift Wing of the Tennessee Air National Guard in 1979. I progressed up to a crew chief on a C130H2. I retired from there as a fulltime technician in 2007. Worked with the Tennessee Army Guard on HH-60 Blackhawks from April 09-April 10. Now fully retired....

It was an honor to serve my country, but I am glad it is over. I now
have all the time to spend with my family and not have to worry about
them when I was underway for months at a time.

I just finished up reading every post. Thanks guys and gals for your service. Mark and Linda, Mark, there is at least one other that was drafted, and darned proud of that US after my serial number. The Army aviation unit I was assigned to only had 1 other draftee on the MTOE. 18 months and 23 days but who kept track. They took me kicking and screaming, but I went. By 1970 most of us had determined the Viet Nam war was a lost cause, but when duty called, we went anyway. As it turned out I ended up in Freedom's frontier at K16 out of Soul South Korea as a 71 P20, Flight Operations Coordinator. I was the guy in Flight Ops that kept all you pilots current, got your flight pay and HD pay. Discharged as SP5, E5.

U.S. Navy Avionic Tech / P-3 In Flight Tech. (retired)
On good days, slept most of the time, on bad days, repaired on the ground before flight, during flight, and after we landed that night! Still got to see lots of countries, and looking down at lots of water from the air.

I was in the 21 Tass during that same time. I was at Tiger Town with the Tiger division of the Koreans. I was an AGE mechanic. Cross trained to Loadmaster when I came back from Nam and spent the rest of my time in C-141 and C-5s. Retired in 95 as a CMSGT and went to work for a civilian airline for the next 15 years and retired again in 2010. Where were you at with the 21 Tass?
