I was in the Army for 3 years, did a year in Vietnam as a aircraft mechanic/door gunner on the UH-1 helicopter. I was stationed at Camp Eagle 68-69 with the 101st Airborne. When I came home I spent the last 18 months at Hunter Army Air Field in Savannah Ga.

I spent a little over 20 years as a member of the Submarine Force. Would have stay in longer but had some problems with reoccuring blood clots so decided it was time to retire (couldn't go back to sea). I retired from Submarine Group TWO in 2002 where I served as the Administrative/Personnel Officer.

AH-1 COBRA attack helicopter pilot and maintenance test pilot of the Cobra and Kiowa helicopter. Danang, Vietnam 1969-70, 101st Airborne. Retired in 1991 with 24 years service and then 17 years with a defense contractor as helicopter test pilot.

My 18 year old son enlisted last week. He will ship out in August, after he graduates from high school and spends his last carefree summer. He is going in as a 14E, Patriot Missile Operation and Maintenance Technician. He will be stationed at Ft. Sill, OK for boot camp and Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX for AIT (29 weeks).

My wife and I are very proud of our son!
