don't remember if I ever posted on this one. 91B2P
Advanced medical Specialist, which in 1968 meant Combat Medic. Spent 6 months in a line company in and out of the A Shau Valley with the 101st Airborne, then went to the Recon platoon for 6 months, Same AO.
Spent some time in both the Reserve and the NG, with the intent of teaching the young guys what to watch for in the next one. Sure enough right after I got out the Middle East started up. I heard from some of those young medics saying thanks. Best feeling ever.

Service date: 1977 to 1983

Began my service by arriving on a beautiful and secluded tiny little island on the East Coast of South Carolina, called Parris Island.

After that little 18 week vacation, I became a Basic Marine Rifleman, 0311 and was sent to Infantry School. After Infantry School, I was assigned to 0341 with the 81 mm Mortars Platoon, 1st Batallion, 8th Marines.
After a year there, somehow the Marine Corps found out I had a background in Architecture and Mechanical Drawing.
I was then sent to Division G-3 to work on maps and topography for the 2nd Marine Division.
After winning several shooting competitions, I was asssigned to the Marine Corps Rifle and Pistol Team and became an 8531, Primary Marksmanship Instructor, PMI.

Thanks to you all on this threat for your service.
I am proud to be among you all.
