Do not know about G-1, however they did use G-4s and called it a C-40. If my memory serves me correct.

Curious so I Goggled it. The Navy designation for the G- 1 was TC-4. It was used for bombardier/navigator training for the A-6 Intruder.

That's right B47, they fashioned an A-6 nose to it and looked like Jimmy Durante! I worked on those and A-6's at Whidbey Island, WA. I know, I'm an USAF guy but my civilian career I worked for DON Depot. I worked on EA-6A, EA-6B, P-3, S-3, F-18, and just about all the helos too.

Hull Maintenance Technician. Sima Charleston, USS SANTA BARBARA AE-28, 3 years in beautiful, sunny, Guantanmo Bay,Cuba (GITMO), 3 years as a Damage Control, Fire Fightiing Instructor, At Flert and Mine Warfare Training Center in Charleston, SC.
